What happened to [Bad username: precious stones]?

Aw. :(

Yeah, see, I'll probably get an ij account, bookmark it somewhere and swear to check it now and then, really, and then *foof* bookmark disappears in a folder somewhere and I forget the whole thing for a year or two. I mean, I have a bookmark for how far I've come in shoebox_project somewhere. I made it before I started my bachelor's degree. I have a degree and a job now, still haven't dug up that bookmark and continued reading, even if I loved it. I just never remember it when I actually want stuff to read.

I sympathize. The same thing kind of happens to me, though the advent of RSS feeds helps a lot for a bunch of things...unfortunately, not for flocked journals, though. o.o; For where RSS feeds don't work, I've found the bookmarks toolbar in Firefox to be really helpful. I dump a bunch of links that I want to check every so often into a folder, and then set up a routine: every Sunday while I eat breakfast, or every Saturday evening or something, hit "open all in tabs" from that folder, and see if anything's new. Since there's a bunch of things in there, it's more likely that SOMETHING will have updated and I won't feel like the exercise was in vain. ;P

Also, one thing RSSish you MIGHT want to try: http://www.michaelhanscom.com/eclecticism/2004/07/08/reading-protected-livejournal-entries-via-rss
I wasn't able to get this to work, nor could a few other folks, but a few people say that it DID work, so it might depend on browser/RSS reader. I'd only use this method in a private RSS reader, though, since it involves putting your password and username in the feed name. Good luck.
